Mefenamic Acid

Mefenamic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins.

Dosage by Body Weight

Adults and pediatric patients over 14 years: Initial dose of 500 mg, followed by 250 mg every 6 hours as needed. Usually taken with food to reduce stomach upset. Treatment should not exceed 7 days.
